I'd like to share my thoughts on why I think you should add content marketing to your overall marketing approach if you're looking to build a full-time coaching practice.
You probably don't need it if you're just looking to have a couple of clients as a side business.
There are three main ways to share content:
Fortunately, you don't need to do all three.
There are plenty of successful businesses who only do one type.
Especially for those of us who are solopreneurs and don't have large teams.
I recommend you choose the one that feels most fun and natural to you.
For example, if you hate to write, then blogging probably isn't going to be your thing.
The last thing you want is to dread creating the content.
Do keep in mind that content marketing is not a quick solution. You will most likely not build a large following right away.
This is definitely a longer term strategy.
But think about it this way...
As a coach, we're asking people to invest a fairly large sum of money for our coaching. It's not like we're offering a $7 ebook.
To do that, they have to know, like, and trust us.
And often, that takes time.
And the best way that I know of to do that is to create content that helps them get closer to their goals, even if it's just in a small way.
The way I look at content marketing is that it's a way for me to teach and coach.
Some people will want to work with me further so they can move faster.
And some people will be fine with quick strategies and tips in their email inbox.
Either way, I still get to coach.
With love & joy,
P.S. Is there someone in your life who could benefit from reading this post? Why not share this with them?
