What having a “best fit” niche has done for my business

I have a six-figure business now because I dialed in my niche.

Honestly, I would not be here writing to you if I had not narrowed it down to coaches. I’d still be floundering, trying to do ALL. THE. THINGS — being a jack-of-all-trades business coach. Never feeling truly confident in what I had to offer.

If you’ve been stuck on your niche, I probably don’t need to tell you it’s not a fun place to be.

On this blog, I’ve shared quite a few of the benefits of dialing in your niche, but I thought I’d take this opportunity to share the benefits I’ve personally seen.

First, when I decided to work with just coaches, the idea for the Coaching Genius Type Quiz came back to me instantly.

I initially had the idea back in 2015 when I was contracting with a coaching organization. I approached the CEO with it, but he decided against it. So I set it aside and didn’t think about it again.

That is... until I decided to work with coaches.

It was like it had been percolating in the back of my mind waiting until I was ready to focus on helping coaches.

I would never have been able to create a quiz like it being a general biz coach. It wouldn’t have worked.

And since I built my business with the help of that quiz, it has served me well.

Second, the idea for the Coaching Genius System, which is the coaching framework I developed to help new coaches get started with the right steps, also just came to me.

I literally just had to ask myself...

“What are the steps coaches need to take in order to have a successful coaching practice?”

And the steps were just there.

From there it was pretty easy to create my first course, The Coaching Genius Course, which walks coaches through those steps.

Third, having that initial framework allowed me to come up with a more comprehensive framework, the Coach.Convert.Connect. System, I use as the foundation for my work with clients. And it’s also become my signature offer.

At this point in my business, I’ve personally worked with hundreds of coaches and have thousands of coaches on my email list where I share my best tips and strategies.

I’ve created many courses and workshops. All focused on what coaches need to build their businesses and attract clients.

Most importantly, I’ve been able to help thousands of coaches make progress towards their coaching goals.
