I like the idea of having a theme for each year — a concept to keep in mind throughout the year.
Many people do this.
Perhaps you do, too.
In previous years, I’ve written it down somewhere and then promptly forgot about it until the next year’s planning session.
Not ideal. 😝
This year, I’ve gotten my act together and added it to my morning routine. Front and center every morning. Right in there with meditating and journaling.
And this year I’ve decided on the theme: SAVOR.
So why savor?
A few reasons…
Right now, savoring moments is something I have to consciously think about. It’s not natural for me. I tend to live the majority of my day on autopilot or in my head.
I think savoring moments is at the heart of what people want when they practice mindfulness. Why try to be present? So we can savor and enjoy the moment.
When you live the majority of your day on autopilot or in your head, time feels like it’s rushing by. I’m no expert, but I think savoring more moments will slow it the heck down. 😉
So, that’s my theme for the year.
